No vendor lock-in: The Blockbrain platform enables AI models to be selected freely, switched at any time, and integrated in full compliance with GDPR
Sovereign European infrastructure: STACKIT offers data sovereignty, regulatory compatibility, and independence from non-European providers
Strong competitive advantage: The partnership addresses the growing need of German companies for high-performance AI solutions, integration capability, and unrestricted control over their own data
Stuttgart, April 2026. Blockbrain, a provider of an enterprise AI agent platform and digital knowledge twins for companies and organisations, has officially been cooperating with STACKIT, the cloud provider of Schwarz Digits, since March. At the heart of the partnership is the combination of Blockbrain's enterprise AI capabilities and STACKIT's sovereign cloud infrastructure. Through this cooperation, AI agents and knowledge bots can be integrated into existing IT landscapes and used productively, without compromising on data control, governance, or regulatory compatibility.
Flexibility Through a Model-Agnostic Approach
Blockbrain has been offering a platform for the use of generative AI in professional environments since 2022. The solution is designed for real enterprise scenarios and supports integration into existing system landscapes. A central feature is the model-agnostic approach: through its LLM-agnostic architecture, different models (e.g. Mistral, Aleph Alpha) can be deployed depending on requirements, with a view to performance, cost, and compliance. A multi-stage RAG pipeline filters relevant information from large volumes of data in full GDPR compliance and delivers near hallucination-free answers in real time. In doing so, Blockbrain addresses the avoidance of dependencies at the model or platform level (vendor lock-in).
A Sovereign Cloud Foundation for Europe
As a digitally sovereign cloud, STACKIT provides the high-performance infrastructure required for this approach, meeting the highest security standards. This ensures that all data processing remains within the German legal jurisdiction and under the control of customers – a decisive factor for public authorities and regulated industries. "Many companies today face the challenge of making AI productively usable whilst retaining control over data, systems, and processes," says Blockbrain CEO Antonius Gress. "Together with STACKIT, we are creating a foundation on which modern enterprise AI can be integrated without losing sight of core sovereignty requirements."
From Pilot Project to Productive Deployment
The partnership is aimed in particular at companies that wish to make internal knowledge scalably available and accelerate their processes. The focus is on the transition from isolated AI pilot projects to productive applications under real enterprise conditions.
